Eating insects

WALT: Create an argument with a point of view (P.O.V) and reasons for or against. =
SC: Use evidence for or against the topic to create an argument for:

I agree with this statement because some insects contain a lot of nutrition. They can be apart of a healthy diet and help a lot with keeping healthy. They produce less water than animals meat, and they are a lot cheaper and are sometimes free in parts of the world.

Insects are very common in other parts of the world to eat insects. They find it very nutritious and healthy. Insects are very common in diets in other parts of the world because they contain nutrition, fibre, protein, minerals, iron, calcium and zinc. Insects produce less water than animals.

There are a lot of species of insects that you are able to eat, like crickets, scorpions and a lot more others.  It’s low on fat and has a lot of fibre and protein that helps us to stay very healthy. In most countries around the world, it is very normal to eat insects because they contain a lot of nutrition and fibre. The help to keep fit and healthy. Cook or boiling insects and mixing them into other food can make it even more healthy because they food that you may add it into could be healthy too.

Insects are really cheaper to grow and cheaper to produce. They cost way less than meat and animals. Sometimes they are even for free. Insects can be mixed with meals and put into foods like peanut butter and drinks. They are usually mixed with a salad because the foods inside of the salad are just as healthy as the insects included in it.
Insects can be used in different kind of meals, like salads, cookies, biscuits, potato chips, peanut butter, drinks and other food resources. Insects are very healthy which is why it is included in food resources. There are over 1,000 edible insects that are are appropriate to eat, but some bugs you can’t eat because they are not created to be eaten.

Preparing for cross country

Today, for cross country preparation, room 7 did a lot of exercising. First we did some stretches for our warm up and  Mrs Parker told us that we had to jog two laps around the verdant-green field. As I started to jog, I felt a little chilly as I was jogging but as I kept on jogging i was all of a sudden really warm like there was a invisible air blanket on me. I could hear the wind as I turned my face. My feet felt numb as I created footprints in mud. As I ran, I got a stitch which made me to go a little bit slower, continued jogging. I was up to me last lap then stopped at the finish line near all the people who finished. But I still had to wait for the others that still needed to finish. When I sat down, I had a little rest then did some stretches to warm down. As I raced to put on my shoes, we all ran to class very tiredly. I felt exhausted as I sat down in class waiting for the rest of the class to come in and sit on the mat.

Have you brushed your teeth?

It is important to brush your teeth every day and night because you need to protect your teeth from getting rotten and prevent the from getting cavities. We also need to brush and floss our teeth because there could be hidden food and sugars in-between our teeth. Brushing our teeth is also very important because we need to have nice clean teeth and protect them from getting rotten and green. If you don't brush you teeth properly, they can get rotten and cavities can slowly build up inside of our mouth. When we eat food that has sugar, it sticks to our teeth then bacteria eats the sugar that makes plaque in your mouth.

To brush your teeth properly you need to brush your teeth everyday and night for two minuted circling around your whole mouth. You need to do little circles as you brush your teeth so that as you circle, all of the sugar and hidden bacteria gets cleaned out.

To show that you take care of your own teeth, you need to brush at least two times a day for two minutes.

Glenbrae is the best school ever

WALT: Write an argument
SC: Have three reasons why Glenbrae school is the best school, and support each reason with facts or examples .
Glenbrae is the best school ever

Glenbrae is the best school because we have awesome teachers and teacher aids, digital tools and awesome sports events.

Glenbrae is the best school because we use digital tools to help us learn. We have iPads, Computers, Chromebooks, Apple laptops and other digital tools used to help Glenbrae students learn. Glenbrae students also keep their work in Google Drive so they can go back on to a doc that has been started and finish off their work. We have our own Emails so that we can message Teacher and classmates (In our own time). We also have our own passwords for TLN, if some people don’t have wifi, they get given a password so that they can do their work at home. We also have our own blogs where we post all of our accomplished work (Presentations, Google drawings, Google docs), our teachers also comment on our blogs and compliment our work. We are very clever student’s that mostly get our worked finished on time.

Glenbrae school has been to a lot of sports events, we have competed against a lot of schools in different kinds of sports events. Sports events like: Netball, Soccer, Rugby League. We are very competitive when it comes to sports, we like to set new challenges when it comes to sport because most of the students in our school are very sporty. We love to try different kinds of sports as well. We love to take risks and try new challenges in sports.

Our teachers have taught us a lot up to this day, Teachers teach us everything we know. Teacher aid are very helpful and kind towards our Glenbrae Students. (If someone has fallen over, Teacher aids will run very fast towards the accident). Teachers and Teacher aids are always there to help us when we need to. Like if we are stuck on a problem, and we can’t solve it, we can ask them to help solve the question/problem. When I am stuck on a math question and I can’t solve it, I ask a teacher for a strategy and she helps me solve it using just a little strategy. Teacher aids hang our cool & beautiful artwork and work in the corridors and inside of our classrooms to make it look awesome. They put a lot of effort in trying to make our school beautiful, but not just for visitors, but for ourselves too. They teach me everything that I need to know for an education.

These are a few reasons why Glenbrae is the best school, because we have Digital tools, A lot of learning, Sports, Teachers and Teacher aids, but we have a lot more than that. Glenbrae school also is the best school because the teachers teach us things that we need to know at our year level.
